I Love Food Awards 2012

Please help us take out the gong for ‘I love food’ awards 2012......we have won the last two previous award years for our Leederville location. We thought it’s about time we let our Subiaco store shine! Plus when you enter there is a chance to enter for $10k...that’s a lot of onion rings!!

‘Jus Burgers Rules’ as noted by Rob Broadfield

Hey JB Lovers,

It’s been a busy few months for us in the Burger World as we prepare to welcome in 2012. This year we doubled our number of stores with now four locations under our belt, we’ve enjoyed spreading the burger lovin’ all over Perth! Our William St and Freo stores both opened with a bang this year to crowds of customers embracing our locally owned brand as well as our stalwarts of Leedy & Subi continue to hum even with increased competition.

From myself Justin & the whole JB’s team we want to thank you for your patronage; you obviously have great palettes as well as integrity as we continue on our journey of delivering a fully WA owned & operated burger joint; the proof is in the pudding when you read below.

Our WA branded supply chain is a very proud feature of our business model.... have you ever asked yourself when pondering what burger bar to dine at, where is that beef from, the lamb, the chicken.... the chips; are they fresh, are the from Western Australia? Ummm...free range, organic, WA.... we’ll let you guys make your own mind up.

Mr Food, Rob Broadfield threw down the gauntlet claiming that ‘Jus Burgers Rules ‘scoring Jus Burgers higher/better than Grill’d in his weekly food review for the West Australian...we were stoked. Comments such as, ‘Genius meat, properly cooked’, ‘Great burgers, fair dinkum about producers & local growers’, ‘ Top Notch’, Over the road at Jus Burgers, everything’s just a little more on the money, smart, cluey staff’,  Jus Burgers seems to really walk the walk when it comes to the provenance of its proteins, local sourcing & innovation in the kitchen. Coupled with his description of Jus Burgers in 2012 Perth ‘Good Food Guide’ www.westgoodfoodguide.com.au  as ‘the original and still the best’, we were all very excited. When a man with as respected palette as his makes these calls you just have to sit up & take notice; not bad for a small local WA burger bar!

Nathan, Nat and Shaun from Nova also popped into the Northbridge store to claim it was their favourite Perth burger joint for the new ishoperth newspaper, who also recently printed our burgers ‘never, ever fail to disappoint’. The journo goes on to say,’ i love what Justin Bell has brought to Western Australia & the way he supports WA growers & suppliers but most of all i like that his burgers are always jus right!

The nationally recognised Gourmet traveller magazine included JUS in the Perth section’s Best Restaurant Guide/cheap eats for our ‘ubiquitous burger bars’.

eat – Australia’s Best Dining Experiences,’ a fantastic new cookbook just recently out featured our Leederville store with a sexy four page spread about how we roll at Jus Burgers……fresh, local and NO FREEZER allowed. A national publication we were amongst such foodie Mecca’s as ‘Cutler & Co’, Ezard & Longrain & The Greenhouse & Andaluz here in WA.

In June this year we were thrilled to be awarded one of only ten “Rising Star Awards’ from the WA business news annual awards evening www.risingstars.com.au/RisingStarsAwardsProgram/Winners/2011Winners/tabid/130/Default.aspx

A month later at an awards ceremony at the Hyatt hotel we received a nod of recognition from the FIA (food industry association) for our achievements in ‘Environment and Sustainability’ within all of our stores. Very important in today’s world I’m sure you’ll agree.

Phew…..it’s been a busy year! Next year see’s Jus Burgers shooting East and try our hand at showing Melbourne what Perth has that they don’t. Most of all we look forward to another busy year, doing what we do best and serving up Australia’s Best Burgers!

YIIIIPPPEEEEEE.... JUS BURGERS FREMANTLE IS OPEN!

Yes Peeps, we flung the doors open on Friday 24th June after 18 months of tweaks and changes to our south side concept for Fremantle.  Our full address is: Shop 14, 74 South Terrace Fremantle, which is the old fish market corner of the Freo Markets and directly across from the Sail and Anchor Pub. Our land line is 9335 5433; phone orders & take away too; lock that number into your phone now &, like ALL J.B venues we have gone 7 days live, yes guys, it’s burger o’clock any day of the week for lunch & dinner.

All the usual suspects feature on our cast of stunning freshly made burgers; the Wagyu, Pumpkin, the Mullet, Bokka the Roo, Amelia Park beef & lamb & those onion rings. Don’t forget the Blackwood valley organic grass fed angus burger fresh from our Southwest &, not to be out done, our Margaret River sunflower & chickpea tempeh burger. We’ve just added a tender Amelia Park aged rump steak burger to the menu…..you’ll have to come down and check them all out.

Our bevvies continue to be dominated by fresh local fruit juices from Pickering Brook & Serpentine as well as milks from Sue & her team at Bannister downs ......the pomegranate frappe plus the new mango smoothie with hints of lemon and ginger. These drinks all sit along with a range of organic juices & carbonated drinks and the staples such as coke & Italian waters ......

For those of you new to Jus Burgers; we are a fresh food, no freezer allowed burger joint. We have not compromised this ethos from day one, something we are very proud of.....we employ chefs who ‘cook from scratch’ everyday in order to deliver the freshest product possible. We are a key driver in the BWEB; Buy West Eat Best program supporting the supply chain right here in WA. We have a nationally recognised gold certification from the RSPCA for using WA free range eggs & chooks (Mt.Barker) & contribute monthly payments to planting trees in our Southwest through the Carbon neutral program. For the past two years we have been recognised as Australia’s Favourite burger bar through the i  love food awards on Foxtels lifestyle channel, culminating with a national TV segment pre-Christmas.  Last month we also were voted one of the Top Ten Rising Stars in Western Australia, in the same month we also received recognition at the Food Industry Association Awards for our efforts within Environmental Sustainability at all Jus Burgers locations.

Guys; we have made the move into the Fremantle to do our bit in assisting with the revitalisation of the Fremantle Markets, to ensure they truly are the best markets in WA; we value your business & support and would love you all to come down & pay us a visit; tell your friends & family too ........we are still an un-licensed family venue, again another great advertisement for Fremantle we believe.

Also, Northbridge and Freo store opening soon! Northbridge will open 20th January and Freo will open in May (still waiting on council!)

Hey JB Lovers!

Thank You: From the Jus Burgers Team & myself ,we would like to thank-you all so much for your fantastic support from our inception and throughout 2009/10’. As a small family owned & operated local West Australian business, we are very pleased & proud in what we have done to date …..Buying & supporting local businesses In particular has been very rewarding. Our recently opened store in Subiaco has been received with open arms (and mouths) and continues to go gang busters. It is truly appreciated and without your (obviously) refined palates we would not be what we are today. It is also the greatest compliment from our Subi patrons that ‘’this is exactly what Subi needed’’!

Our flagship Leedy store continues to shine with the support of our regulars and newbie’s alike. Both stores offer not only our awesome burgers and personable, easy customer service but also a casual dining experience that’s fun and quirky and family friendly- so that everyone can feel welcome to be a part of the experience & both are also unlicensed with a BYO allowance of $2 corkage per person so you can enjoy your burger posh styles with a glass of vino or man-style with a cold ale.

Jus Burgers is proudly affiliated with the fantastic initiative ‘Buy West Eat Best’ being the first W.A. restaurants to promote all fresh and fabulous local produce. We also stand tall with our ‘’No Freezer Allowed’’ policy which means at Jus Burgers it truly is the freshest gourmet burger you are likely to have- and the test is in the taste!

NEWS: Jus Burgers is proudly affiliated with the CARBON NEUTRAL team (Mr. Chris Doherty). We are making monthly donations to be involved in a tree planting program in WA’s South. Once a ‘link’ is in place, you will be able to see where the trees have been planted. Great news!

The food/ The Team: If you’re unfamiliar with what the craic is at Jus Burgers; We use only the best local produce we can source, cooked & served by real chefs….& Justin, the bald (short haired) Pommy dude you’ll see on the line at both properties….see ‘about us’. All burgers are complimented with house-made roasted garlic aioli, zingy tomato relish, fresh salad and gorgeously tasty, grilled Turkish buns from the Turkish bakery or our specially made Gluten Free buns from Bodhis bakery. We also have some of the best vego options available; with our oven roasted pumpkin and goats cheese burgers, smothered in basil pesto, we also do a ridiculously fresh chick-pea (falafel) patty that comes with a lip smackingly sweet sour Middle Eastern slaw and tahini yoghurt- or you can even build your own vego burger with our massive range of toppings.

For a bit on the side (way-heeeey!) we use fresh cut Royal Blue potatoes for our chips, our famous Panko crumbed onion rings made fresh every single day or if you’re after something on the lighter side, we do a House Salad; a Spanish, paprika and honey macerated slaw, a Middle Eastern slaw with Pomegranate Molasses and lemon and our Regular with is infused with our sticky roast garlic aioli and fresh parsley.

Jus Burgers Fremantle: On the shop front, we are really excited to announce a new store opening! Yes, we have listened to the cries of ‘please come south of the river’, so the port city of Fremantle & the iconic Freo markets is our third site, currently on track for a October opening, council dependent! Note: Probable trading hours will be: Tuesday thru’ Sunday & open on public holidays!
